Art Apps!

I've been exploring a bunch of new iPad apps this year based on my reading, explorings, and your recommendations... (There are lots of great apps for free too!!) Here are some of the apps I have installed on my ipad so far: 

I have really enjoyed learning new things and seeing new art through apps like Earth as Art, Art Circles and Art Database.  

You can edit photos you take easily and creatively through apps like Snapseed, Aviary, reflection, and Rhonna Designs... See how many ways I can change this photo of a lantern in my home!?

Or even create new drawings or ideas through Paper 53, fingerprint, sculptor and more!

My dear ASB artists- I hope you are enjoying your summer challenge of finding art everywhere you go! I'm looking forward to sharing my art adventures with you in just a few more weeks so enjoy your travels and don't forget to be collecting art experiences everywhere you go! The student artists at ASB have been inspiring parents and teachers to get creative and make their mark through art! In the past week there have been open studio days for staff and parents to come create!

What a successful exhibition we had last week!
The fourth floor was busy with visiting art classes, parents, teachers, staff, and other visitors all week long. Every young artist should feel proud of their contributions to such an impressive display of creativity and talent.  The comment cards capture the success of our artists!

Art Exhibition Opening: Monday April 15th, 2013

Thanks to everyone who came to the art exhibition opening today! It was a fantastic community celebration-complete with a fabulous ribbon cutting by Ms. Weale.   The abundance of creativity our ASB artists is evident in the show and very impressive. 

 Don't forget the show will be open all week long. Stop by during student led conferences on Thursday or any time before, during, or after school to see the exhibition! 

If you didn't get a chance to fill out a comment card with your highlights and feedback, you can still share your thoughts on this google form !

Exhibition is coming!!

Everyone is busy this week getting posters, publicity paintings, labels, and invitations ready for the big show starting Monday!

Art ASA Openings!

Students in grades 3,4 and 5:  

Do you love art?

Do you like to get messy?

Do you think it would be really cool to design your own t-shirt?

 If you answered YES to any of these questions you should sign up now for a quarter 4 ASA: Screenprinting with Mrs. G on Thursdays after school.  The session starts after spring break (Q4 activities run April 1-May 25) and there are still a few spots open so have your parents email Crecencio Gomes (gomesc@asbindia.org) if you are interested in joining.

You will learn the basic screenprinting process (used commercially to mass print t-shirts, posters, and other materials and labels), create your own design on your own screen, and print your design with your friends on posters, canvas tote bags, and a t-shirt! All materials are provided and will go home with you at the end of the last class, come join in the fun!

*You can also email to sign up for grade 4 and 5 Arts & Crafts on Mondays after school with Mrs. G in Quarter 4!

Artists MIA!?

Where have all the artists gone?!  It's been two months since we've had a blog update and in that time we've been printing, recycling, building, painting, smudging pastels, drawing, studying artists... and enjoying some holidays! Time to wake our blog back up and share what we've been up to!  Mrs. G spent the holidays with Coach Dax and their family in the UK and had a chance to see so many famous pieces of art! 

  

They visited the Louvre, Musee de Or'say, Dali Exhibitions, contemporary art galleries, impressionist paintings and so much more in London, Paris, and Brussels!

Back in Bombay the annual Kala Ghoda Arts Festival took place celebrating dance, theater, music, and fine art in India.  Where have YOU seen art with your family lately?!
